Organizations AFP: The Association of Fundraising Professionals
represents 25,000 members in 163 chapters throughout the United States,
Canada and Mexico, working to advance philanthropy through advocacy, research,
education, and certification programs. CASE: Council for Advancement and Support of
Education is the professional organization for advancement professionals
at all levels who work in alumni relations, communications, and development. The Foundation Center is an independent nonprofit organization established by foundations in 1956. Its mission is to strengthen the nonprofit sector by advancing knowledge about U.S. philanthropy. Guidestar provides comprehensive information about the non-profit sector, e.g., current and recent 990’s, Board lists, compensation research, etc. Giving Institute: Leading Consultants to Non-Profits. In 2005, the name was changed to the Giving Institute. Women in Development New York (WID New
York) is an organization of fund-raising professionals dedicated to promoting
the highest standards in the field and providing education and leadership
for the next generation. The Chronicle of Philanthropy is the newspaper
of the nonprofit world. It is the number one news source, in print and
online, for charity leaders, fund raisers, grant makers, and other people
